These cast changes are the right direction to not only refresh a series still watched by many young aspiring fashion industry professionals, but to hopefully paint a more realistic depiction of the design process. In addition to Siriano, other designer alumni of the series include Michael Costello, and from the Bay Area, Melissa Fleis, Christopher Collins, Emily Payne, Richard Hallmarq, Alexandria von Bromssen, Alex Snyder and Candice Cuoco.Īfter 14 years and multiple spinoffs and imitators, “Runway” was in dire need of new energy. The show was a major hit for Bravo when it debuted in 2004, and along with the film “The Devil Wears Prada,” it was seen by many as demystifying the (alleged) inner workings of the fashion industry. Bravo is in pre-production on the new season and is said to be giving the show a complete reboot and makeover. The show, which aired on Lifetime for the past 11 years, terminated its relationship with producer Harvey Weinstein in 2017 after allegations of a pattern of sexual harassment by Weinstein came to light. Elle Magazine editor-in-chief Nina Garcia remains as the only original judge. Replacing departing judge Zac Posen are fashion designer Brandon Maxwell and former Teen Vogue editor-in-chief Elaine Welteroth. (Klum and Gunn are working on a new fashion series for Amazon).
